I have to say I love music. It can do so much for the soul if you find the right piece at the right time. Something to take you back and remind you of a moment in your life. I had one such moment this afternoon as I was tidying up and clearing out some paperwork. I found music from South Pacific. The song 'Younger than Springtime' is sung in the film / play by a man, but somehow I just love the notes to sing - there is something about the sharps and flats that really hit the spot! As soon as I saw it I couldn't help but sing it. So much so that I looked it up on You tube and have played it several times through. I remember being part of South Pacific with the fabulous am dram group Nowmads and this particular song was sung by a stunning tenor voice that sent shivers down my spine at the time.
Well, maybe I don't do it justice, but even for the sake of amusement, here is my effort! I realise the top notes are a little rough round the edges, but there is something that I think is there to lift us all.
It's given me renewed impetus to start singing again .....
I liked this a lot and felt cheered by the song!
